Thanks for joining me on this exciting adventure. As of March 30th, 2019, I will be traveling throughout Southeast Asia for four months. 17 strangers embarking on an experience of a lifetime together. I leave in six days on a 27-hour plane ride to Hanoi, Vietnam, to meet my new clan of nomads. I’m excited and nervous as hell at the same time. I’ve packed so much that I’m now doubling up on everything. My cosmetic bag looks like a dollar store medicine isle. But shopping and over-prepping helps to calm my nerves.
However, I know everything will be fine, as I’m not new to travel. I took my first plane ride around the time I could walk. Thankfully, my family always had a love of travel and started throwing me out of my comfort zone at a very young age. I was lucky to experience new cultures and different worlds when most people were just worried about what fashion label they were going to wear to school. Traveling abroad opens your eyes and educates you in ways you can only imagine. I wish everyone would explore more and see the beauty that lies all around the world.
During this time of traveling, I will also be working and taking my company, Richter Publishing LLC, global. Honestly, I think this will be the easiest aspect of the entire trip of four months. I have spent five years growing and building my company to a sort of self-running model. With technology, most companies can be operated from anywhere. I used to have an office full of employees and interns, but I have always worked with freelancers all over the world as well as clients. My company is based out of sunny Clearwater, FL, but sometimes I have clients as close as Tampa and yet we would never meet one another. So I decided just recently after all my employees left Florida, for one reason or another, that I should too. It has always been a dream of mine to live in another country. And now I have the time and capabilities to do just that. The company I am utilizing to help organize everything is Remote Year. It’s a beautiful concept to help people accomplish exactly what I have been wanting to for a very long time—work and live anywhere.
So join me on this amazing journey while I figure out how to live within these new countries with new friends while running my biz the entire time.
